Preston Stanley claimed a share of fourth and the HBU men's golf team took fifth in the Reveille Challenge on Sunday.
The Huskies finished the one-day event, hosted by Texas A&M, with a 298 and 296 to turn in a 18-over 594 on the par 72, 7,146-yard Traditions Golf Club.
Stanley fired par and a two-under 70 across 36 holes to finish in a two-way tie at 142 (-2). The under-par tournament performance is the fifth of the year for the native of Katy, Texas.
Junior
Isaiah Huerta also carded par in his first turn on the course, before shooting a 79 in his second round to finish tied for 23rd in the 45-player field with a 151 (+7).
Freshman
Raul Hernandez and senior
Andy Ariens tied for 28th at 153 (+9). Hernandez, after firing an 80, responded with a 73 in his second walk of the course, while Ariens carded a 76 and 77, respectfully.
Senior
Trey Cassity rounded out the HBU scorecard one stroke back of teammates Hernandez and Ariens with a 154 (+10), turning in rounds of 78 and 76.
Host TAMU won the tournament, carding a seven-under 569 total, followed by North Texas (575), Stephen F. Austin (577), Texas State (593), HBU (594), Louisiana-Monroe (597), Houston (605), Arkansas-Little Rock (608) and Prairie View A&M (730).
The Huskies will now begin preparation for the 2015 Southland Conference Golf Championship at the Stonebridge Ranch Country Club in McKinney, Texas, taking place across April 20-22.
