SUGAR LAND, Texas – The HBU women's golf team carded a 17-over 288 in the third and final round to take third in the HBU Husky Invitational at Riverbend Country Club on Tuesday afternoon.
 
Huskies Aries Ramirez (81-72-74 – 227), Giorgia Carletti (74-77-77 – 228) and Caitlyn Cassity (74-78-76 – 288) all finished within one stroke of each other to claim top 10 finishes on the par-72, 6,084-yard course, as HBU (311-303-305) finished with a 55-over 919 team score in the 11-team field.
 
Ramirez, who recorded the lowest round for the Huskies with a par in her second round on Monday, shot a 74 in her final turn on the course to finish with an 11-over 227 and share of eighth place in the 60-player field.
 
Cassity and Carletti turned in scores of 76 and 77 to split tenth at 228. Cassity led HBU in par-three scoring (+1), par-four scoring (+5), while Carletti was one stroke back in both. Cassity also led the team with 38 pars across 54 holes.
 
Senior Rachel Mulkey (82-76-78 – 236) and sophomore Charlotte Hartshorn (82-79-80 – 241) rounded out the scorecard with a 78 and 80 to finish in ties for 23rd and 33rd, respectfully.
 
Junior Brook Johnston (80-80-75 – 235) and freshman Susan Hagger (82-77-77 – 236) both competed individually, taking shares of 21st and 23rd after shooting 75 and 77 to finish one stroke apart. Johnston tied for the tournament-lead, shooting two-under on par fives.
 
The Huskies will now begin preparation for the Southland Conference Golf Championship. The 54-hole tournament, taking place at Stonebridge Ranch Country Club in McKinney, Texas, will start with 18 holes on Monday, April 13, with the second and third rounds to take place April 14-15.
