Golfstat LAREDO, Texas – The HBU men's golf team finished 16th in the Border Olympics, carding an 18-over par 306 in the final round at Laredo Country Club on Saturday.
Senior
Preston Stanley (74-69-75 – 218) and junior
Isaiah Huerta (76-76-75 – 227) both fired three-over 75's across the final 18 holes in the three-round tournament. Stanley finished tied for 30th, while Huerta claimed a share of 72nd.
Raul Hernandez (71-71-78 – 220),
Parker Rodgers (77-75-78 – 230) and
Trey Cassity (77-82-78 – 237) all turned in scores of 78 to round out the Husky scorecard. Hernandez tied for 40th, Rodgers shared 88th and Cassity took 99th, respectively.
Senior
Andy Ariens (73-75-76 – 224) competed as an individual, recording a 76 in his final round for a share of 63rd in the 102-player field.
HBU will next compete in the UTSA Briggs Ranch Invitational in San Antonio. The tournament will run March 23-24 at the Briggs Ranch Country Club.
