ResultsCORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The HBU women's golf team improved by 25 strokes from the team's opening round, carding a 303 in the second and final round to take fifth place in the Islander Classic at the Corpus Christi Country Club on Tuesday.
The Huskies, who shot a 328 in cold and windy conditions on Monday, responded with a 303 for a 631 team score after 36 holes in the 16-team tournament.
Sophomore
Charlotte Hartshorn and freshman
Giorgia Carletti led HBU, both turning in two-over 74 sheets, respectfully. Hartshorn finished the tournament with an 11-over 155 (81-74) for a share of 14th place, while Carletti knocked 13 strokes off her first round to tie for 36th at 161 (87-74).
Senior
Rachel Mulkey finished with a 76 in her final round to claim a share of 27th place with a score of 158 (82-76).
Senior
Caitlyn Cassity followed Carletti with a 79 to finish tied for 41st. Junior
Aries Ramirez rounded out the HBU ticket with an 86, tying for 64th at 168 (82-86).
Junior
Brook Johnston, who competed individually, claimed a share of 48th at 163 (81-82) with an 82 in her final round.
The Huskies will be back in action at the Southern Miss Lady Eagle Classic beginning March 9.
