ResultsNEW BRAUNFELS, Texas – The HBU women's golf team finished in 5
th place at the Delta Gamma Challenge, hosted by Texas State University, at Landa Park Golf Club. Monday's final round was canceled due to inclement weather.
Junior
Aries Ramirez shot a 74 in the first round followed by a 1-over par-72 in the second, tying for 19
th place with 146. Freshman
Giorgia Carletti also tied in 19
th after a first round of 76 and a second round of 1-under par-70. Senior
Caitlyn Cassity carded a 75 in the first round followed by a second round of 72 to tie for 24
th place at 147, only a stroke behind Carletti and Ramirez. Sophomore
Charlotte Hartshorn joined Cassity in 24
th place after first and second round scores of 76 and 71, respectively. Senior
Rachel Mulkey scored a first round of 78 and improved in the second round with an even-par 71 to tie for 36
th with 149. Junior
Brook Johnston played individually, scoring back-to-back rounds of 81 to place 68
th with 162.
Idaho and University of Arkansas at Little Rock finished in a tie for first with a two-round total of 575. Due to tiebreaking procedures, Idaho won the team championship. Houston finished in third place with 580, followed by Texas State in fourth place at 583. HBU and Lamar tied for fifth place, just two strokes behind fourth.
Lora Assad, Sabrina Bonanno, and Aislynn Merling tied for first place with a total score of 2-under par-140 after two rounds. Leilanie Kim and Raegan Bremer tied for fourth, one stroke behind first place.
