ResultsMONROE, La. – The HBU women's golf team shot a final-round 311 to finish fourth at the ULM Fred Marx Invitational Tuesday at Bayou Desiard Country Club.
Senior
Rachel Mulkey shot a 79 for a 54-hole total of 229 to finish ninth, her second top-10 finish in as many tournaments to start the season. Sophomore Charlotte Hartshort also finished in the top 10, tying for 10
th after carding a 79 for a total of 230. Senior
Caitlyn Cassity shot a 75 to move up to a tie for 25
th at 235. Junior
Aries Ramirez shot 78 to tie for 27
th at 236, and junior
Brook Johnston shot an 80 to place 54
th at 249. Freshman
Susan Hagger fired the Huskies' lowest round of the day with a 73 and tied for 25
th at 235 playing individually.
Host ULM won the team title with a three-round score of 908, four shots ahead of Sam Houston State and six ahead of Arkansas-Little Rock. Sam Houston State's Paige Nelson claimed the individual crown with a score of 1-over par 217, four strokes ahead of ULM's Ines Fendt, and six strokes ahead of UALR's Stina Resen and Sofie Kvarnstrom, who tied for third.
The Huskies return to action at the Harold Funston Invitational Oct. 6-7 at Raven's Nest Golf Club in Huntsville, Texas.
