DUNNELLON, Fla. – The HBU women's golf team finished in fifth place following the final round Monday of the MSU Ocala Invitational at Juliette Falls Golf Resort.
Senior
Christina Cantu fired a 74, tying for fifth place to lead Huskies with a 4-over par 220. Junior
Rachel Mulkey shot a 77 to tie for 10th place with 223. Senior
Katie Paxton shot a 75, tying for 19
th place with 227. Junior
Caitlyn Cassity climbed to 24
th after she fired a team best of the day, 1-over par 73, to total 229. Sophomore
Brook Johnston carded a 77 and tied for 32
th with 231.
Daytona State held onto first by shooting 296 to finish with a total of 889. HBU shot 299 and finished second to end the tournament with 895, only six strokes behind first place. North Florida concluded seven strokes behind HBU for third place with 902. Toledo ended in fourth with 905. Murray State fell to fifth place, six strokes behind Toledo.
Daytona State's Tiffany Chan shot a 1-under under par 71 to keep first place with a 10-under par 206. DSU's So Young Hwang fired 70 and finished second with 3-under par 213. Ohio's Hailey Hrynewich shot a 73 and maintained third place with 218. Mallory Viera for Stetson fired a third straight 73 to end fourth, one stroke behind Hrynewich. The Huskies host their next competition Monday and Tuesday at Riverbend Country Club in Missouri City, Texas.
