Women's Golf Finishes 4th at Lady Eagle Invitational

Final Results

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The HBU women's golf team finished in fourth place after the second and final round Tuesday of the Lady Eagle Invitational at the par-72 Hattiesburg Country Club.  
Junior Rachel Mulkey and Senior Christina Cantu each fired a 79,finishing in 12th place with a 36-hole total of 154.  Sophomore Brook Johnston carded a 155, landing in 15th place.  Both Junior Caitlyn Cassity and senior Katie Paxton shot a 157, tying for 20th. Individual competitor, freshman Charlotte Hartshorn, finished with 159.
The host, Southern Mississippi, shot 307 landing in first to end the tournament with 608, three strokes ahead of second place Memphis.  South Alabama came in third, three strokes behind Memphis and only three strokes ahead of the Huskies. Murray State shot 621 to finish in fifth place. 
Southern Mississippi's Brandi Rodriguez shot a 74, maintaining first place at 144. Louisiana Monroe's Alison Knowles finished one stroke back with 145. South Alabama's Elisa Axelson fired an even par-72, finishing in third place with 149, while USM's Anna Lesher finished fourth with 150. Central Arkansas's Sarah Brown, Memphis's Leighann Cabush, and Murray St.'s Delaney Howson tied for fifth place with 151.
The Huskies return to competition at the Morehead State Invitational March 23-25 in Ocala, Fla.
