SAN ANTONIO – HBU senior first baseman
Mike Chamberlain entered the game as a defensive replacement in the 11
th inning, and in his first at-bat of the night, he picked the right time for his first home run as a Husky, as his two-run blast in the top of the 13
th proved to be the game-winner in a 9-7 victory over UTSA in non-conference baseball Tuesday night at Roadrunner Field.

Jordan McCoy each collected two hits for HBU (4-0). McCoy doubled and drove in a pair of runs, while Martinez also had a double. Jones and junior centerfielder
Zach Nehrir each scored twice.
Sophomore righthander
Matt Harding (1-0) earned his first collegiate victory, allowing one hit and striking out one in two scoreless innings. Martinez and sophomore
Dylan Zarosky combined with Harding to hold the Roadrunners scoreless over the final 6.1 innings. Junior righthander
Ross Kennell was HBU's starter and allowed five runs on 10 hits in 4.2 innings.
Jesse Baker, Horacio Correa III, Mike Warren and John Welborn had three hits apiece for UTSA (3-1), which outhit HBU, 18-14. Welborn had a double, a triple and scored twice, Warren homered, while Baker doubled and stole two bases for the Roadrunners.
Andre Shewcraft (0-1) took the loss for UTSA, allowing the two runs on three hits in two innings. Boone Mokry started for the Roadrunners, allowing two runs on three hits in 1.1 innings, while Logan Onda, Jeremy Filipek and Matt Sims combined to hold the Huskies scoreless for 6.2 innings. Sims struck out six in 3.2 innings.
UTSA took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first on RBI singles by C.J. Pickering and Correa, and RJ Perucki scored when Warren grounded into a double play. HBU answered back in the top of the second with an RBI single by Wiggins and a sacrifice fly by sophomore outfielder
Austin Saenz.
The Roadrunners extended their advantage to 5-2 in the bottom of the second on Welborn's RBI double and an RBI single by Ramirez.
HBU rallied for five runs in the top of the fifth to take a two-run lead. The Huskies took advantage of a wild pitch and an error, then Martinez and McCoy delivered back-to-back doubles – McCoy's a two-run stroke, to put HBU up, 7-5.
Welborn tripled with one out in the sixth and Baker followed with a double to cut the Huskies' lead to one, but Baker was stranded at second. The Roadrunners tied the game in the seventh on a two-out solo home run by Warren.
The Huskies were held scoreless for the next seven innings, but Jones singled to left with two outs in the 13
th, and Chamberlain rocked a two-run shot to right.
The Huskies return to action and return home to host Northeastern in a three-game series this weekend at Husky Field. Friday's single game is scheduled to start at 2 p.m., followed by Saturday's doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m.
