Madeline Gaffney led the Huskies with 12 kills in their 3-0 (25-12, 25-20, 25-18) fall to Missouri Saturday morning at Tudor Fieldhouse.
Along with her lead in kills, Gaffney was placed on the All-Tournament team for the Rice Invitational Tournament. Gaffney's hitting percentage averaged out to .429 in her game against Missouri. Senior
Caiti Wenger also contributed with nine kills. Freshman setter
Kayla Armer recorded 35 assists for HBU (5-6). Sophomore libero
Haley Mueller had 10 digs for the Huskies.
Lisa Henning had 15 kills for Missouri, while teammate Carly Kan had nine kills. Molly Kreklow had 37 assists. Sarah Meister recorded 13 digs for Mizzou.
Missouri outblocked HBU 7 blocks to 1. They also outhit the Huskies .436-.231. Mizzou outdug HBU by only six digs.
The Huskies return to action Thursday, Sept. 19 as they play their first Southland Conference game against Texas A&M Corpus-Christi at 7 p.m. in Sharp Gym.
