HOUSTON – Houston Christian Volleyball returns home to Sharp Gym on Thursday night to host East Texas A&M in Southland Conference action. First serve is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
The teams previously met in the opening week of Southland play, with HCU claiming a 3-0 win in Commerce, Texas, on September 25. The Huskies (11-12, 6-4 SLC) aim to carry that momentum into Thursday's contest as they continue their push in the conference standings.
HCU enters the matchup following a road setback at Southeastern last weekend. Senior middle blocker
Allana Archie leads the Huskies with 227 kills and a team-high 54 blocks, while
Joya Euhus and
Hannah Redrow have contributed 161 and 147 kills, respectively. Setter
Peyton Fadal paces the offense with 695 assists, and
Bianca Byerly anchors the defense with 266 digs and a team-best 30 service aces.
East Texas A&M (6-15, 4-6 SLC) comes in after a five-set home loss to Lamar on Saturday. Gracie Campbell leads the Lions with 291 kills, while Jade Washington guides the defense with 451 digs. Nevaeh Smith adds 48 total blocks at the net.
HCU averages 13.0 kills and 11.8 assists per set while holding opponents to 12.6 kills per set. Through 23 matches, the Huskies have outpaced opponents in total kills (1,026–997) and assists (932–917).
Following Thursday's matchup, HCU will remain at home to face Northwestern State on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Sharp Gym.
