HOUSTON – HBU junior outside hitter Megan McStravick recorded a double-double with 14 kills and 20 digs to lead the Huskies to a 3-2 (26-24, 19-25, 23-25, 25-12, 15-13) victory over UT-Pan American to conclude the Houston Marriott Westchase Classic Saturday night.
 
Junior outside hitter Madeline Gaffney had 13 kills, along with freshman outside hitter Jessica Wooten who also had 13 kills for the Huskies. Senior middle blocker Caiti Wenger added 12 kills. Freshman setter Kayla Armer had 50 assists. Sophomore libero Haley Mueller had a match-high of 23 digs, while Junior setter Haley Hoffman had 13 digs.
 
Diara Reynolds had 11 kills. Anjane Janda also had 11 kills, while Haley Durham added 10 kills for the Broncs. Nycole Masaki had 36 assists. Nausheen Merchant had 20 digs, while Krysta Freitas had 13 digs.
 
HBU (2-1) had an attack percentage of .196, whereas the Broncs had an attack percentage of .119.
 
All Tournament selections: Alisha Watson (UTPA), Lavinia Tataran (Louisiana), Sara Mossakowski (Louisiana), Megan Schmale (Nebraska-Omaha), Kayla Armer (HBU), and Madeline Gaffney (HBU). Caiti Wenger (HBU) was named MVP of the tournament.
 
HBU will host Prairie View A&M Tues., Sept. 3 at 7:00 p.m. in Sharp Gym.
