CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – HBU junior middle blocker 
Madeline Gaffney led the Huskies with 13 kills in their 3-0 (19-25, 20-25, 20-25) fall to Northwestern State in the semifinal round at the Southland Conference volleyball tournament Saturday at the Dugan Wellness Center.
 
Senior middle blocker 
Caiti Wenger helped contribute with seven kills for HBU (15-18). Freshman setter 
Kayla Armer had a match-high of 27 assists for the Huskies. Junior libero 
Haley Hoffman led the Huskies with 19 digs, while junior outside hitter 
Megan McStravick had 16 digs. Armer also had 15 digs for HBU. Freshman defensive specialist Beth Schecterle recorded 14 digs for the Huskies.
 
Ashley Elrod led Northwestern State with 11 kills. Stacey DiFrancesco contributed with 10 kills for the Lady Demons, along with 20 digs. Emily Johnson recorded 20 assists for Northwestern State, while teammate Natalie Jaeger had 17 assists. Keelie Arneson had a match-high of 27 digs for the Lady Demons.
 
The Lady Demons outblocked the Huskies 7-3. Northwestern State outhit HBU 45 kills to 32. The Huskies outdug the Lady Demons 76-70.
 
The Huskies finished this season with an overall record of 15-18, including 9-9 in Southland Conference play. They finished sixth place overall in conference. Next season, HBU will return
