NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Hoping to ride the momentum of the thrilling 1-0 overtime win at Lamar on Sept. 30, the HBU women's soccer team heads back out on the road to continue Southland Conference play. The Huskies square off at Stephen F. Austin on Friday, Oct. 4 at 7 pm, then conclude the weekend trip at McNeese State Sunday at 1 pm.

SFA leads the all-time series against HBU, 3-0-0, and defeated the Huskies, 2-0 in Houston, in the previous meeting on Sept. 2, 2012. The Cowgirls lead the series against the Huskies, 2-1-2, as the two teams tied last season in Lake Charles, La., 1-1, in double overtime.

HBU (2-7-1, 1-2-0 SLC) played in two overtime matches last weekend, going 1-1-0. The Huskies scored the match's first goal against visiting Northwestern State, but the Lady Demons scored the equalizer in the second half, then the game winner early in overtime. At Lamar, the only scoring came with nine seconds remaining in the first OT, as Molly Missimer scored her first goal of the season.

HBU has played in four overtime matches this season, which is already a single-season program record.

Rebekah Tovar leads the Huskies with five points, on two goals and one assist. The goalkeeping has been stellar, as the trio of Stephanie Castellon, Patty Walrath, and Shelby Horn have combined for a 0.96 GAA and a .870 save percentage.
Preseason favorite, SFA (7-2-1), improved to 2-1-0 in the conference following a 3-0 win at Lamar on Sept. 29. The 7-2-1 start is the best 10-match start in school history.

Chelsea Raymond leads the Ladyjacks with five goals and 10 points. SLC Goalkeeper of the Week honoree Lacey Lee has a 5-1-0 record, a 0.47 GAA, a .889 save percentage, and six shared shutouts with Morgan Glick.

McNeese State (5-5-1) dropped to 0-3-0 in SLC play after a 1-0 double OT loss against Sam Houston State.

Tori Lasiter leads the Cowgirls with four goals and eight points. Lauren Sestak is 2-4-0 in goal with a 1.14 GAA and a .833 save percentage. She was named SLC Goalkeeper of the Week earlier this season after helping McNeese tie nationally-ranked Baylor 0-0.
