HOUSTON –
Patty Walrath tied a career high with nine saves, but the HBU women's soccer team couldn't get any offense going in a 1-0 loss to Central Arkansas Sunday afternoon at Sorrels Field.
The lone scoring came in the second half, as UCA's leading scorer, Adriana Lucar, ran to get a long pass sent from Katie Koch. Walrath ran to beat Lucar to the ball, but Lucar beat Walrath just seconds before, flicking the ball over Walrath and into the open net in the 63rd minute.
HBU outshot the Bears, 17-13, while shots on goal were tied at 10 apiece. UCA held a slim 8-7 advantage in corner kicks.
The last time Walrath made nine saves was at Lamar earlier this season on Sept. 30. Her counterpart, Lynzey Goff, made 10 saves.
HBU (4-10-1, 3-5-0 SLC) continues the home stand against Nicholls State on Oct. 25 at 7 pm at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Oct. 27 at 1 pm.
