HOUSTON – After going 3-1-0 in their most recent road trip, the HBU women's soccer team plays five-straight home matches, beginning Friday, Oct. 18 against Oral Roberts at 5 pm at Sorrels Field. The home stand continues Sunday at 2 pm against Central Arkansas.
The meetings are the first-ever against the Golden Eagles and the Bears.
HBU (4-8-1, 3-3-0 SLC) spotted Incarnate Word an early 1-0 lead before scoring the equalizer before the end of the half, then the game winner with 1:10 remaining in regulation.
Rebekah Tovar had a three-point match against UIW and leads the Huskies with seven points. She and
Molly Missimer lead the squad with three goals apiece, while M. Missimer has two game-winning goals.
Natalie Hager leads the team with two assists.
Patty Walrath has seen the bulk of the action lately and is 3-2-0 with a 0.78 goals-against average, a .871 save percentage, and two shutouts.
Oral Roberts (10-4-0, 5-2-0 SLC) lost at home to Southeastern Louisiana, 1-0, on Oct. 13. Prior to that, the Golden Eagles had won six of their last seven matches.
Kayla Keller leads the Golden Eagles with eight goals and 18 points. Jennifer Abernathy, Megan Giles, and Mary-Kate Halsmer have 16, 15, and 13 points, respectively.
In goal, Maddie Rhodes is 6-3-0 with a 0.80 GAA, a .837 save percentage, and three shutouts (one shared).
Central Arkansas (6-6-2, 3-3-0 SLC) lost identical 2-1 matches to visiting Southeastern Louisiana and Nicholls State last weekend.
Adriana Lucar leads the Bears with eight goals and 19 points. She is one off the assist lead, which is held by Shelby Wilson, who has four.
Lyndzey Goff has seen the majority of action in goal and has a 2-3-0 record, a 1.64 GAA, a .719 save percentage, and one shared shutout.
