HOUSTON -- School records fell in the men's and women's distance medley relays Friday and freshman Lakesha Cameron and Jessica Whitt rolled to 2013 season bests Saturday to lead Houston Baptist University at the Howie Ryan Invitational indoor meet at the University of Houston.

Whitt ran a stellar lead-off 1200-meter leg on the women's DMR to set up the Huskies, and Bria Guerin (400), Jamie Whitt (800) and Hiba Kreidie (1600) followed with strong efforts as the quartet knocked almost 10 seconds off the previous school record with a 12:14.05 to place second behind SMU.

Last week's Great West Conference men's athlete of the week, Matt Perri, anchored the HBU men to a second-place finish in 10:11.59 with his 4:14 mile carry. Anthony Aguinaga, Jordan Claypool and Ulysses Montoya helped Perri break the previous record by more than a second. The race was won by a team of post-collegiate runners representing adidas.

Jessica Whitt came back Saturday to take second in the women's 800, finishing as the first collegian with a GWC-leading time of 2:16.49. Cameron improved her conference lead in the 60 with a 7.66 to place second.

Perri's 4:13.82 earned him a bronze in the men's mile, and Kenisa Haynes took over the conference lead in the women's 200 with a lifetime-best 25.68.

Brice Christian, David Hicks, Darryl McCullum and LaDarien Harris teamed up for a season best 3:24.90 in the men's 4x400 to win section one.
