Radoncic’s Header Gives Huskies 2-1 Overtime Win

GRAMBLING, La. – Amina Radoncic's header in the first overtime gave visiting Houston Baptist a 2-1 victory over Grambling State Friday afternoon.

Radoncic and Kristina Burhans scored goals for the Huskies, while Molly Missimer and Taylor Gibson recorded assists. Missimer had a team-high three shots, all on goal. Brandi Hart and Yuri Santibanez also had three shots.

Shelby Horn earned her third win on the season, making eight saves in 97 minutes.

Kenisha Butler scored for the Lady Tigers. Grambling State had nine shots on goal, with Sierra Arndt, Tiana Bateau and Butler recording three shots on goal apiece.

Jordan Taylor suffered the loss, allowing two goals while making 11 saves in 97 minutes.

After a scoreless first half, Grambling scored the match's first goal, as Butler scored in the 57th minute.

HBU would tie the match in the 74th minute, as Burhans scored her first goal of the season, assisted by Missimer.

The two teams entered the extra session tied at one.

Radoncic's heroics came in the 97th minute, assisted by Gibson.

“We didn't play very well, but we will take the win on the road and move on,” said head coach Misty Jones.

HBU (4-3-0), winners of three straight, will conclude its road trip at Stephen F. Austin on Sunday, Sept. 11 at 1 pm.
