HOUSTON – HCU women's soccer will aim to make it three-straight unbeaten when the Huskies host Louisiana Tech at Sorrels Field on Thursday evening for a 5:00 p.m. kickoff. Thursday's game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
HCU (1-1-1) played Rice to a 1-1 draw last Thursday at Sorrels Field with junior Zylee Dominguez finding the net and goalkeeper Emmy McKeon matching a career-high with 10 saves in goal. McKeon's effort vs. the Owls earned her Southland Conference Goalkeeper of the Week honors for the fifth time in her career.
Louisiana Tech (0-2-1) has faced three SLC teams to open the season, tying with Nicholls, 2-2, before falling to Southeastern and Lamar. La. Tech's goals have come from Reagan Roberts and Madison Pensom. In goal, Mackenzie Lorkowski has racked up 20 saves in two games.
Last season in Ruston, La., the Huskies defeated the Bulldogs, 2-0. Dominguez and Emma Smith scored HCU's goals in the win while McKeon registered six saves to preserve the shutout.
The Huskies will travel to Dallas, Texas for a Sunday, Aug. 30, evening with the SMU Mustangs at 7:00 p.m.
