WBB: Huskies Announce Eight Additions for 2025-26

The newcomers join two previously signed incoming freshmen and four returners

HOUSTON – On Monday afternoon, HCU head women's basketball coach Drew Long announced eight signees for his first season at the helm of the Huskies' program.

The eight additions include seven transfers and one high school signee. Martyna Czescik, Remi Langmaid and Gabrielle Wener are transfers coming in as seniors while Jordan Jackson comes to HCU with two years of eligibility left. Grace Booth, Maddie Hurta and Veronika Korchagina will all transfer in for their sophomore seasons while Sidney Carr joins the Huskies from the high school ranks.

"We are excited about this group," said Long. "We've added some really good players who fit what we are trying to build both on and off the floor. It's a good mix with some talented transfers who will bring much needed experience and a solid group of freshmen who have the ability to make an impact from day one. We are anxious to get started and can't wait to see how they come together."

Czescik, from Warsaw, Poland, is a 6-0 forward who played the previous two years at Delta State. During her two seasons with the Lady Statesmen she appeared in 49 games with 22 starts.
