HOUSTON — Houston Christian University wraps up its regular season home slate Monday evening at 5:00 p.m. inside Sharp Gym, hosting Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Senior NIght.
The Huskies (8-20, 6-15 SLC) have three outgoing seniors on their roster in
Jo Oly, Martyna Czesick and
Remi Langmaid. Oly has been with the HCU program for four years and currently ranks 10th in program history with 69 career blocked shots, including 12 in the last five games. Czescik and Langmaid joined the Huskies this season and have in 10 and seven games, respectively.
HCU defeated the Islanders on the road earlier in the season, earning a 63-50 win on Jan. 31.
Kamryn McLaurin led HCU with 13 points off the bench while Hannah Field scored 12 and
Grace Booth added 10. The Huskies shot 47.2 percent (25-of-53) from the field in the win while forcing TAMUCC into 19 turnovers.
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (5-23, 4-17 SLC) has lost its last three games, including this past Saturday at home to Northwestern State, 63-35. Chelsea Wooten and N'Kari Holliday both scored eight to lead the Islanders. For the season, Samora Watson is scoring a team-high 10.4 points per game while Holliday leads the way on the boards with 6.3 rebounds per game.
