T&F: Two Records Fall at Bryan Clay Invitational

Arlette Concepcion and Edouard Lecrivain improve upon their own records

AZUSA, Calif. – On Thursday at the Bryan Clay Invitational, hosted by Azusa Pacific, Arlette Concepcion and Edouard Lecrivain raced to new program records to lead a group of HCU track & field student-athletes competing.

Lecrivain's record came in the men's 800 meter invite, a race he won with a blistering time of 1:47.03 to break the Southland Conference record and improve upon his own school record set last weekend at the 44 Farms Team Invitational. Prior to Thursday's race, just eight runners in the nation had run a faster 800m this season.

Concepcion's record came in the women's 5,000 meter A race as the senior placed third with a time of 16:31.80, improving upon her own program record time by nearly 25 seconds. In the 5000m B race, Destiny Quintanilla finished with a new PR time of 17:23.98.

Eline Mast ran in the women's 800m invite, winning her heat by just under four seconds with a PR time of 2:07.85. The day started with senior Justice Artisst posting a time of 14:44.07 in the 5000m.

The Huskies close out the Bryan Clay Invitational with a handful of student-athletes competing on Friday, Apr. 17.
