HOUSTON — HCU women's basketball returns to Sharp Gym on Tuesday evening for its home opener against LeTourneau with tip-off scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
The Huskies (0–3) enter their first home contest following a competitive non-conference stretch that included road matchups at No. 5 LSU, Tarleton State, and Tulsa. HCU's offense has shown steady growth through the early slate, averaging 64.3 points per game while shooting 43.9 percent from the field and 37.7 percent from three-point range. HCU's shooting percentage as a team has gone up with each game with the Huskies connecting on 57.1 percent (24-of-42) from the floor in their most recent game at Tulsa.
Sophomore guard
Grace Booth leads the team with 14.7 points and 8.7 rebounds per game on 56.3 percent shooting, while junior
Jordan Jackson adds 13.3 ppg and 7.0 rpg with a team-high eight assists on the year.
Kamryn McLaurin has provided a spark off the bench, averaging 10.7 points on 56 percent shooting.
The YellowJackets (1–1) split their opening week, falling at Howard Payne before defeating the College of Biblical Studies, 71–50, at home. Senior forward Mariana Espinosa leads LeTourneau with 16.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game with Kylie Weeks adding 14.0 ppg and ranking among the team's top free-throw shooters.
Following Tuesday's home opener, HCU will remain in Houston to host Concordia (TX) on Monday, Nov. 24, also at 6:090 p.m. inside Sharp Gym.
