WGOLF: Huskies Wrap Up Fall Season at the Bear Brawl

HCU finishes sixth to close out fall play in Waco

WACO, Texas — Houston Christian women's golf capped its fall season Tuesday with a sixth-place finish at the Bear Brawl, hosted by Baylor at Ridgewood Country Club.

The Huskies recorded rounds of +19 and +26 for a two-round total of +45, finishing ahead of UTRGV, Incarnate Word, East Texas A&M, and Stephen F. Austin in the 10-team field.

Hailey Hendershott led HCU with a strong performance, firing a 72 (E) in the opening round followed by a 74 (+4) to finish at +6, securing a top-10 individual placement.

Serena Churchill and Natcha Makmanee followed at +12. Churchill opened with a 74 and added a 78 in round two, while Makmanee carded rounds of 75 and 77.

Sara Pihlajamaki posted scores of 78 and 77 to finish at +15, and Alejandra Ferrer rounded out HCU's lineup with a 79–78 (+17).

Competing individually, Alyssa Stewart finished at +13 (75–78).

Texas A&M captured the team title at even par (E), followed by host Baylor (+4) and North Texas (+16) to round out the top three.

The Bear Brawl concluded HCU's fall schedule. The Huskies will return to competition Jan. 19 for the North Texas Match Play at the Golf Club of Houston.
