T&F: Huskies Finish Up at 44 Farms Team Invitational

Rabius and Piquart shine in the 800 meters



BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – HCU track & field closed out the two-day 44 Farms Team Invitational, hosted by Texas A&M, on Saturday at E.B. Cushing Stadium.
 
Senior Jessica Rabius posted a fourth-place finish in the 800 meters, crossing the finish line in 2:13.47, finishing just over three seconds out of first. In the men's 800m, meanwhile, senior Alex Piquart ran a 1:51.01 to place second and finish less than half a second behind the race's winner. Krzysztof Turski finished fifth in the race, finishing in 1:52.96.
 
Destiny Quintanilla ran a personal best time of 11:04.99 in the 3,000 meter steeplechase, recording a fourth-place finish. In the men's 1,500 meters, Justice Artisst raced to a seventh-place finish with a time of 3:59.19 while freshmen Albin Wallenius and Abderahman Benfodda finished close behind with times of 4:00.13 and 4:00.88, respectively.
 
Alex Long-Craine, a freshman, ran a wind-aided 10.57 in the men's 100-meter dash, placing 19th, while Raylen Russell posted a wind-aided mark of 12.01 to finish 19th in the women's 100m. In the men's triple jump, freshmen Dadrian Calhoun and Josh Gillis-Harry came in sixth and seventh with wind-aided marks of 14.73m/48-4.0 and 14.72m/48-3.75, respectively.
 
The next meet for the Huskies is the Bryan Clay Invitational, hosted by Azusa Pacific, in Azusa, Calif. From Apr. 11-13.
