AUSTIN, Texas – A group of HCU track & field athletes competed at the Texas Invitational on Friday and Saturday with
Jessica Rabius' fourth place finish the top mark among the Huskies' competitors.
Rabius placed fourth overall in the 800 meters, posting a time of 2:09.44, with
Eline Mast crossing in 2:15.73. In the men's 800m,
Alex Piquart finished with a mark of 1:55.12. Freshman
Albin Wallenius ran a 4:01.88 in the men's 1500 meters.
The Huskies' had a pair of freshmen compete in the men's triple jump with
Dadrian Calhoun leaping a season-best 15.11m/49-7 to place sixth while
Josh Gillis-Harry put up a top mark of 14.63m/48-0.
Tasheba Pleasant, meanwhile, jumped 11.98m/39-3.75 in the women's triple jump.
In throwing events,
Spencer Blake placed ninth in the shot put with a top throw of 15.50m/50-10.25 and also posted a top mark of 45.81m/150-3 in the discus.
Liza Lap recorded a top distance of 43.73m/143-5 in the women's discus.
Scott Boon finished ninth in the javelin with a season-best mark of 52.87m/173-5 while also clearing 4.70m/15-5 in the pole vault.
The Huskies will wrap up the regular season across town at the Tom Tellez Invitational, hosted by the University of Houston on Friday, May 3, before the Southland Conference Outdoor Championships from May 9-11 at Rice's Holloway Field.
