Box Score HOUSTON, Texas – The Huskies battled back with a game-tying two run homerun in the 11
th inning but couldn't hold off the Colonels, falling 6-5 in an extra-inning thriller at Reckling Park.
Game three was moved to Reckling Park at Rice University due to field conditions at Husky Field from inclement weather.
After allowing two runs in the top of the third inning and one run in the top of the fifth inning, the Huskies entered the bottom of the fifth inning down 3-0. A two-out rally lead by a solo-shot off the bat of

Josh Prinner hit a two-run home run to tie the game at 3-3. After five scoreless innings from each team, the Colonels added two runs in the top of the 11
th inning to take a, 5-3, lead. In the bottom of the frame, Nicholls grabbed two outs on five pitches before Bard singled up the middle to keep the Huskies alive. On a 2-2 count, Prinner hit his second home run of the game with a deep shot to left field to tie the game at 5-5 and extend the match to the 12
th inning. The Colonels closed out the series scoring a run in the top of the 12
th inning to claim game three, 6-5, and sweep the series, 3-0.
The Huskies (13-25, 6-9 SLC) were led by Prinner going 3-for-5 with two home runs, four RBIs and two runs. Hodge went 3-for-6 with a double while Edwards went 2-for-4 with a home run.
Trent Baker recorded a pair of hits and walks going 2-for-4 and Bard went 1-for-4 with a walk and two runs.
Brock Shoffner (0-1) was tagged with the loss pitching the final inning of relief with a walk and a strikeout.
Rye Gunter started the game pitching five innings, allowing three earned runs on four hits with a pair of walks and strikeouts.
Nicholas Willard pitched two scoreless innings of relief with two walks and two strikeouts.
Zach Ryan also pitched two scoreless innings of relief, giving up three hits with a walk and a strikeout. The Huskies used seven pitchers in game three.
The Colonels (27-14, 10-5 SLC) were led by Jaden Collura going 2-for-3 with a triple, an RBI, a run and a walk. Cade Crosby went 2-for-5 with a home run and a walk while Parker Coddou went 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI, a run and a walk. Dylan Farley (2-2) earned the win pitching 1.1 shutout innings of relief. Michael Quevedo started the game for Nicholls, pitching six innings while allowing three earned runs on six hits with a walk and four strikeouts. The Colonels used eight pitchers in game three.
The Huskies will continue their home stand hosting SFA for a midweek on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Husky Field.
