AZUSA, Calif. – Senior
Alex Piquart won his heat and broke his own school record in the 800 meters and
Justice Artisst trimmed nearly eight seconds off his 5,000 meters school record to lead a contingent of Huskies on Friday at the Azusa Pacific Bryan Clay Invitiatonal.
At the Bryan Clay Invitational, Piquart won his heat with a time of 1:49.19 to best his own previous school record and place 28
th out of 119 finishers in the 800 meter invitational. Artisst, meanwhile, posted a record time of 14:16.58 in the open 5000m, placing 21st. In the women's 800m invitational,
Jessica Rabius ran a season-best 2:07.62 to win her heat.
Krzysztof Turski posted a time of 1:52.25 in the open 800m, placing 49
th out of 235 finishers.
Eline Mast ran a time of 2:16.84 in the women's open 800m. Senior
Liza Lap placed 10
th in the discus with a top distance of 44.04m/144-6.0.
In Nacogdoches, at the SFA Carl Kight Invitational, freshman
Dadrian Calhoun leapt 6.98m/22-10.75 in his first outdoor long jump of the season, placing seventh.
Spencer Blake posted a top throw of 14.72m/48-3.50 in the shot put while
Scott Boon had a top distance of 13.05m/42-9.75 in the event.
HCU will have five runners competing on Saturday at the Bryan Clay Invitational.
