AUSTIN, Texas – Senior
Justice Artisst led a group of HCU runners at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays on Thursday, breaking a school record that had stood for 11 years in the 5,000 meters.
Artisst, running in the men's 5,000 meter invitational race, placed ninth with a time of 14:24.38 to improve upon Matt Perri's previous record from 2013 by more than 15 seconds. Artisst now holds three program records with the other two coming in indoor competition.
Jessica Rabius ran her first 800 meters of the season in the women's invitational race, posting a time of 2:11.73 to finish 17
th.
Brianna Hinds placed 26
th in the women's 400 meter hurdles, crossing the finish line in 1:03.75 while
Denzel Hinds recorded a time of 53.38 in the men's 400h, placing 27
th.
The Huskies are back in action at Myers Stadium in Austin on Friday, Mar. 29, at the Texas Relays.
