Reem Tammam has been named the first Southland Conference field athlete of the week for the 2023 outdoor season.
Last week at the UH Kirk Baptiste Spring Break Invitational, Tammam competed in both the triple jump and the long jump, placing second and third, respectively. Her wind-aided mark of 12.49m/40-11.75 is tops in the conference and ranks 11
th in the NCAA west region. Additionally, in the long jump, she recorded a top leap of 5.78m/18-11.75 that is tied for second in the conference.
Tammam and the Huskies will be competing this coming weekend in Houston at the Rice Victor Lopez Classic, held at the Wendel D. Ley Track, on Friday and Saturday, Mar. 24-25.
