Jessica Rabius and junior
Alex Piquart have been selected by the league's head coaches for superlative awards for the 2023 indoor track & field season with Rabius named Women's Outstanding Running Events Performer and Piquart named Men's Newcomer of the Year.
Rabius won gold in both the mile (4:50.59) and the 3,000 meters (9:54.37) and picked up a silver as part of the Huskies' Distance Medley Relay team (11:47.08) at the 2023 Southland Conference Indoor Championships. Over the course of the indoor season, she broke three individual program records and was part of a new DMR record.
Piquart, meanwhile, earned his Newcomer of the Year status after winning gold in the mile at the conference championship and helping the men's DMR to a silver medal.
As a team, the Huskies earned all-conference honors in 10 events.
