INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After an impressive, award-filled five-year career with the HBU track & field program,
Kaitlin Smith is still in the running for one more award, NCAA Woman of the Year.
The NCAA Woman of the Year award is presented to one female student-athlete, regardless of division, each year and honors graduating female student-athletes who have distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers in the areas of academic achievement, athletics excellence, service and leadership.
Smith has posted a perfect 4.0 grade point average while earning a B.S. in kinesiology and an M.S. in sport management while on track to earn an M.Ed. in higher education in December. On the track, she is a three-time all-American and a two-time Academic All-American. She totaled 12 medals (6 gold, 3 silver, 3 bronze) at Southland Conference Championships in her career and holds seven different program records.
