NORMAN, Okla. – HBU senior
Mason Ghidina has been selected as a Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced Thursday.
Ghidina, who will be returning to HBU for a fifth year in 2022-23, made the Southland Conference Academic All-Conference Team. The Pekin, Illinois, native posted a 3.85 GPA as a finance major. Ghidina was second on the team with a 74.86 stroke average and recorded three top-20 finishes. He tied for 18
th at the season-opening Lone Star Invitational, then tied for 16
th at the Zach Johnson Invitational with a score of 4-over par 217, including his low round of the season with a 1-under par 70 in the second round. He tied for 14
th at the Herb Wimberley Intercollegiate, finishing at 5-over 218.
To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically. In addition, they must participate in 50 percent of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 and maintain a cumulative 3.2 GPA.
