HUMBLE, Texas — The Houston Christian men's golf team wrapped up play Tuesday at the All-American Intercollegiate, hosted by Houston at the Golf Club of Houston, finishing 16th overall with a three-round total of +85. After battling heavy winds during the opening rounds, the Huskies returned to the course for the final round under calmer but colder conditions.
HCU entered the final day at +60 after rounds of +33 and +27, before posting a +25 team score in the third round.
Brooks Pawlak led the Huskies during the final round, carding a 75 (+3) to finish the tournament at +14 overall. Pawlak opened with a 39 on the front nine, highlighted by a birdie on the par-3 seventh, before turning in an even 36 on the back nine.
He added another birdie on the par-4 15th to steady his round and paced the Huskies on the final day.
Mason Napier followed with a 76 (+4) in the final round to finish at +24 overall. Napier recorded a birdie on the par-4 sixth hole during the front nine and added another birdie on the par-4 12th on the back side while finishing with a 37 coming in.
John "Cooper" Camp posted an 81 (+9) in the final round, finishing the tournament at +22 overall. Camp turned in a 42 on the front nine before settling into a 39 on the back, highlighted by birdies on the par-4 13th and par-4 15th.
Carter Patterson also carded an 81 (+9) to close the event and finished at +31 overall. Patterson recorded a birdie on the par-3 16th during the back nine as part of his round.
Brendon Willey rounded out the lineup with an 83 (+11) in the final round to finish at +30 overall. Willey posted a 41 on the front nine and 42 on the back while navigating the demanding course setup.
Arkansas, ranked No. 4 nationally, claimed the team title with a +18 tournament total, followed by Eastern Michigan (+30) and Tarleton State (+35). Abilene Christian finished fourth at +42, while host Houston placed fifth at +49.
The Huskies will return to action March 30–31 when they travel to Mobile, Alabama, for the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate as they continue the spring portion of their schedule.
