CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - HBU will begin an eight-game road stretch with a three-game Southland Conference series against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Thursday through Saturday at Chapman Field. All three games will be shown on ESPN+.
 
Sophomore catcher Parker Edwards is hitting .321 with six home runs, seven doubles, 21 RBIs and 13 runs, while junior first baseman Brennen Bales is hitting .309 with six doubles, 14 RBIs and eight runs. Junior centerfielder Austin Roccaforte is hitting .281 with five doubles, two triples, 15 RBIs and 22 runs, leads the SLC with 28 walks and has a .452 on-base percentage. Sophomore infielder Sebastian Trinidad is batting .288 with five doubles, seven RBIs and six runs.
 
The Huskies (11-22, 5-4 SLC) are expected to start righthanders Will Ripoll (1-3, 5.35 ERA), Jared Burch (1-2, 4.20 ERA) and Matthew Charles (1-0, 9.68 ERA). Senior closer Andrew Reitmeyer (2-2, 3.29 ERA) ranks second in the league with six saves.
 
Brendan Ryan is hitting .376 with nine doubles, a triple, three home runs, 18 RBIs and 26 runs, while Max Puls is hitting .319 with eight doubles, two triples, two home runs, 22 RBIs and 20 runs for the Islanders (16-18, 3-6). Leo Markotic is hitting .283 with eight doubles, three home runs, 23 RBIs and 23 runs. Steven Rivera-Chijin leads the team with 27 runs and Josh Caraway has hit five home runs with 28 RBIs. Tre Jones has homered six times.
 
TAMU-CC will likely start lefthander Zach Garcia (3-2, 2.78 ERA), righthander Hayden Thomas (4-2, 5.23 ERA) and lefthander Jaime Ramirez Jr. (1-1, 4.58 ERA).

Next week, HBU will face Houston Tuesday, followed by Lamar Wednesday, before heading out to face Northwestern State in Southland play for the weekend.
