HOUSTON – HBU will play a pair of midweek games, first making a short trip to face Prairie View A&M Tuesday, before returning home to take on former Southland Conference foe Lamar Wednesday at Husky Field. Wednesday's contest will be shown on ESPN+ with Russ Reneau.
 
HBU has won five of its last seven and have won back-to-back weekend series, including its first-ever series win over a Top 25 opponent by taking three-of-four this past weekend against No. 20 Sacramento State.
 
Senior infielder Jake Miller has reached safely in his last four games and leads the Huskies (5-8) with a .317 batting average, a home run, four RBIs and a team-leading eight runs. Junior outfielder Logan Letney is hitting .300 with two doubles, a home run, three RBIs and four runs, while junior catcher Tyler LaRue is hitting .258 with two doubles, a triple, three RBIs and five runs. Junior shortstop Diego Davila has a five-game hitting streak and junior catcher Parker Edwards has hit safely in his last four.
 
HBU will likely start junior righthander Trey Valka (0-0, 13.50 ERA) on Tuesday, followed by junior righthander Thomas King (0-0, 22.50 ERA) on Wednesday.
 
Zachary Trevino leads PVAMU (3-7), hitting .393 with a double, five RBIs and two runs, while Benjamin Ybarra is hitting .375 with two doubles, a triple, nine RBIs and five runs. Alex Martinez is hitting .293 with a home run, two RBIs and seven runs.
 
Josh Blankenship is hitting .465 with eight doubles, a triple, a home run, 21 RBIs and 10 runs for Lamar (8-4). Kevin Bermudez is batting .319 with two doubles, two triples, three RBIs and 14 runs, while Kelby Weyler is hitting .286 with three doubles, a triple, 11 RBIs and seven runs. Chase Kemp has doubled four times with 11 RBIs and 11 runs.
 
The Huskies will be back on the road when it takes on Louisiana Tech Friday through Sunday in Ruston, Louisiana.
