SPRING, Texas – The HBU men's golf team will host the Colin Montgomerie HBU Invitational Monday and Tuesday at Augusta Pines Golf Club. The tournament will feature 36 holes on Monday beginning with an 8:15 a.m. start, followed by a single round on Tuesday morning.
The Huskies will send out the lineup of junior
Ben Caton, sophomore
Cooper New, freshman
Shaheen Momin and seniors
Michael Townsend and
Mathew Chairuangdej. The rest of the HBU roster, seniors
Ransom Jacobson and
Henry Suman, sophomore
Oliver Dickman and freshman
Haven McEntire, will be competing individually.
The rest of the field is comprised of Gonzaga, Missouri State, Weber State, Nicholls, DePaul, Nebraska Omaha, New Orleans, UIW, UT Rio Grande Valley, Southeastern, Stephen F. Austin, Midland College, North Dakota, Prairie View A&M and individuals from Houston and Baylor.
The tournament is named after distinguished HBU golf alumnus Colin Montgomerie, who is a World Golf Hall of Fame member, eight-time Order of Merit winner and is one of the most successful players in Ryder Cup history.
The Huskies return to action at the Big Texas Invitational hosted by UTRGV March 21-22 in Kerrville, Texas.
