MGOLF: Round 1 suspended due to weather at SLC Championship

Huskies set to resume Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. after lightning and rain halt play at Comanche Trace

KERRVILLE, Texas — Round 1 of the 2026 Southland Conference Championship at The Club at Comanche Trace was suspended Monday after lightning delays and a rain-soaked course made conditions unplayable. Houston Christian was between holes six and eight when play was called, with the Huskies sitting in eighth place at +6 through an incomplete round.

Junior Brooks Pawlak was the low man for HCU through the holes completed, sitting at even par in 14th place. Seniors Mason Napier and Brendon Willey were tied for 17th at +1, while seniors Clayton Smith and Roy Barrera IV were both at +4, tied for 35th in the field.

The Huskies are set to return to Comanche Trace on Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. to complete Round 1, weather permitting.
