LAKE CHARLES, La. - The HCU women's soccer team enters the final stretch of the 2022 regular season with the team's final two road games of the season this weekend, traveling to Louisiana to face McNeese and Southeastern. HCU (3-7-3, 3-3-1 SLC) saw a four-match unbeaten streak come to an end last weekend with a 1-0 loss at UIW but prior to that loss, the Huskies had picked up 10 points in the conference standings. The Huskies are currently tied for fifth in the league standings with McNeese (4-5-4, 2-2-4 SLC) while Southeastern (4-4-3, 2-2-3 SLC) sits just one point back.

Xya Balderas also adding goals.

The Cowgirls have played to three consecutive 1-1 draws, most recently in Beaumont against league-leading Lamar. McNeese has a 1-0-4 record over its last five games. The Lady Lions played a pair in Texas last weekend, finishing with a pair of ties. First they tied UIW, 2-2, before a scoreless draw at Texas A&M-Commerce. Senior midfielder Mya Guillory leads the team with six points thanks to a pair of goals and a pair of assists with defender Emma Jones the only other player on the roster with multiple goals, netting two.
