ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - HBU kicks off the season on the road against FBS Mountain West foe New Mexico Thursday at 7:06 p.m. CDT at University Stadium.

The Huskies will be revamped on offense under new coordinator

Dreshawn Minnieweather, who has 1,289 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns for his career, was a preseason all-conference pick. Junior wide receiver

Brennan Young has been one of the most productive tacklers in the FCS over the last three seasons. He was joined on the Preseason All-Southland Conference Teams by senior safety

On special teams, HBU returns junior kicker

Brady Buell from Central Michigan. Sophomore receiver

UNM is expected to start graduate transfer Terry Wilson at quarterback. He started the last 25 games of his career at Kentucky. The Lobos return leading rusher Bobby Cole, while receiver Mannie Logan-Greene is the leading returning receiver.
The Lobos return their leading tackler in Tavian Combs, while Joey Noble led the team with four sacks and Jerrick Reed led the team with four interceptions.
Thursday marks the first meeting between HBU and UNM in football. The Huskies are 0-8 all-time against FBS opponents.
HBU will host FCS Big Sky foe Northern Colorado in the home opener Saturday, Sept. 11 at 6 p.m. at Husky Stadium.Â
