TULSA, Okla. – HBU outhit Oral Roberts, but stranded nine runners, as the Golden Eagles claimed a 6-1 victory in the non-conference series opener Friday afternoon at J.L. Johnson Stadium.
Junior centerfielder
Christian Dumont went 3-for-5, while junior designated hitter
Todd Jackson and junior first baseman
Brennen Bales each went 2-for-4. Junior third baseman
Jake Miller drove in the only run for the Huskies (6-22).
Junior lefthander
Austin Spinney (0-4) took the loss, allowing three runs on four hits with two strikeouts and five walks in 4.1 innings.
Blake Hall went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBIs and scored a run for ORU (13-16). Caleb Denny went 1-for-3 with a double and scored twice, while Blake Shannon added a pinch-hit two run home run.
Tanner Rogen (2-2) earned the win for the Golden Eagles, allowing one run on 10 hits with two strikeouts and a walk in 7.1 innings.
The series continues Saturday with a 2 p.m. first pitch, followed by Sunday's 1 p.m. start for the finale.
