Senior third baseman
Nathan Soriano has a home run, a triple and five RBIs for the Huskies (2-8), while senior rightfielder
Brandon Bena has a pair of doubles and four RBIs and freshman shortstop
Sebastian Trinidad has four RBIs and has scored four times. Senior centerfielder
Chase Talbot has homered, drove in two and scored four times.
HBU is expected to start sophomore righthander
Morris Austin, who has made one appearance out of the bullpen so far this season, posting a 4.50 ERA and two strikeouts in two innings.
Bradley Gneiting is hitting .353 with two home runs, three doubles, nine RBIs and seven runs for the Owls (4-5), while Justin Dunlap is hitting .350 with two home runs, a double, four RBIs and six runs. Guy Garibay has homered twice and driven in six, while Will Carp has driven in six and scored seven runs. Cade Edwards leads Rice with nine runs scored.
Rice will likely start lefthander Brandon Deskins, who has made four appearances out of the bullpen, going 0-1 with a 5.19 ERA and eight strikeouts in 8.2 innings.
The Huskies return to action when they travel to open Southland Conference play with a four-game series against New Orleans Friday through Sunday in New Orleans.
