Brennen Bales each delivered RBI doubles in the 10
th to send the Huskies to a 6-4 win in the non-conference baseball series finale Sunday afternoon at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field at Russo Park.
Bales went 3-for-5 with two doubles and four RBIs on the afternoon for the Huskies (2-8), who snapped an eight-game losing streak. Bena went 1-for-5 with a double, an RBI and scored twice and senior centerfielder
Chase Talbot added a solo home run.
Junior righthander
Andrew Reitmeyer (1-1) picked up the win, but allowed two runs on two hits with two strikeouts and four walks in 2.1 innings, while sophomore righthander
Jared Burch notched his first career save, setting Louisiana down in order in the 10

Daxton Tinker took a no-decision, allowing two runs, one earned, on five hits with six strikeouts and a walk in 6.2 innings.
Bobby Lada went 3-for-3 with a triple and scored twice and Tyler Robertson was 2-for-5 with an RBI for the Ragin' Cajuns.
Conor Angel (0-1) took the loss, giving up two runs on two hits in 1.1 innings. Louisiana starter Carter Robinson allowed four runs, three earned, on five hits with seven strikeouts and two walks in seven innings.
The Huskies jumped out to an early lead, taking advantage of an error to load the bases, then Bales ripped a bases-clearing double to make it 3-0.
The Ragin' Cajuns got a run in the third when Robertson singled, stole second and scored on an RBI groundout by Anthony Catalano. Louisiana trimmed the lead to one in the fifth when Lada led off with an infield single, stole second, went to third on a wild pitch, then scored when Robertson reached on a throwing error.
In the seventh, Talbot blasted a solo shot to right to put the Huskies back up, 4-2.
Connor Kimple drew a leadoff walk in the eighth, then scored on Carson Roccaforte's double inside the first-base bag to cut the HBU lead back to one.
Reitmeyer walked Lada to lead off the ninth, then picked him off, but walked Brandon Talley and CJ Willis. Robertson bounced a base hit over third and into left to score pinch runner Sam Riola with the tying run. Reitmeyer came back to strike out Kimple, then Robertson was thrown out at second trying to advance on a low pitch blocked by senior catcher
Matt Solomon.

Sean Horgan led off the 10
th with an infield single, then junior second baseman
Jake Miller hit a ground ball deep at third and was called out when he clearly beat the long throw. Bena followed by smacking an RBI double into the gap in leftcenter. With two outs, Bales laced another double inside the third-base bag to score Bena for a 6-4 lead.
The Huskies return to action when they face Rice in their final midweek non-conference game of the season Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Reckling Park.
