Junior Christopher Welch has again earned SLC Athlete of the Week honors

FRISCO, Texas – HBU's Christopher Welch has repeated as the Southland Conference men's field athlete of the week thanks to a big performance this past weekend at the H-Town Speedcity Series.

Welch improved his top mark for the season by nearly three feet, leaping 16.13m/52-11.0 en route to the triple jump title. The junior now ranks seventh in the nation in the event and that mark is six feet better than any other SLC athlete this season. Welch has now earned seven field Athlete of the Week honors in his career.
