LUBBOCK, Texas – HBU got on the board first in the top of the fourth, but No. 10 Texas Tech answered with eight in the bottom half, only three of which were earned, to go on to an 11-2 victory and sweep the non-conference baseball series Sunday afternoon at Rip Griffin Park.
 
Senior third baseman 
Nathan Soriano hit a solo home run, while junior first baseman 
Jake Miller went 2-for-4 with a double and scored a run for the Huskies (1-5). Senior leftfielder 
Lane Botkin went 1-for-3 with an RBI and also drew a walk.
 
Junior lefthander 
Austin Spinney (0-1) took the loss, allowing seven runs, only three earned, on five hits with four strikeouts and three walks in 3.2 innings.
 
Dylan Neuse went 2-for-4 with a triple, three RBIs and two runs, while Jace Jung went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run for the Red Raiders (3-3). Kurt Wilson doubled, drove in two runs and scored twice, Parker Kelly went 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Nate Rombach homered and drove in a pair.
 
Mason Montgomery (1-0) allowed one run on two hits with five strikeouts and two walks in five innings to earn the win for TTU.
 
The game was scoreless through three, until Soriano led off the top of the fourth with a blast to left.
 
The Red Raiders quickly answered, as Neuse drew a leadoff walk and scored on an error. Wilson followed with a two-run double, Kelly and Jung had RBI singles, before Neuse came back up and delivered a two-run triple. Cole Stillwell capped the scoring with an RBI single for an 8-1 lead.
 
HBU scored again in the seventh when Miller led off with a single, went to second on a wild pitch, then scored on Botkin's RBI single.
 
The Huskies return to action when they travel to face Texas A&M Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Blue Bell Park in College Station. The audio broadcast with
