WSOC: HBU Falls in Southland Opener

The Huskies will next play at home against Central Arkansas

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – On a near freezing evening at UIW's Benson Stadium the HBU women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to the host Cardinals on Friday.
 
UIW (2-1-0, 1-0-0 SLC) struck first in the opening half with Andrea Reyes finding the net in the 21st minute. Another goal by UIW came at the start of the 48th minute with the following two coming in the next 11 minutes. HBU's (0-2-1, 0-1-0 SLC) first shot attempt came off the foot of freshman Mia Salas in the 60th minute with the shot missing high. Another freshman, Angela Baltimore, also had an attempt that missed off target in the 88th minute.
 
Goalkeeper Karla Ramirez recorded a pair of saves for the Huskies in the loss.
 
The Huskies will be at home at Sorrels Field on Friday, Feb. 19, to take on Central Arkansas at 7:00 p.m.
