Senior Day: Men's Golf's Patrik Jericha

HBU Honors 2020 Spring Sport Seniors

On March 14, the Southland Conference announced all remaining competitions and championships for the 2020 season would be canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Several HBU seniors in men's and women's golf, track and field, beach volleyball, softball and baseball had just begun their final seasons and did not have the opportunity to complete their athletic careers and compete for a conference championship.

HBU Athletics is honoring each of those seniors with their own Senior Day here on HBUHuskies.com. Each weekday over the next seven weeks, a different senior will be featured, so please make sure to retweet, like and reply to the Twitter post to show them how much you support them and appreciate how much they have meant to the HBU community.

Patrik Jericha - Men's Golf

Patrik Jericha joined the Huskies' men's golf program for the 2018-19 year as a junior after two years at Arkansas State.

"HBU has definitely changed me," said Jericha. "I have grown a lot. I became more confident in what I want to do and learned how to better interact with people with different views."

A Prague, Czech Republic native, Jericha played a total of 41 rounds over 14 events in his two seasons at HBU. As a junior, Jericha enjoyed a strong showing in just his second tournament as a Husky at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invite, shooting three-over-par to tie for 24th in the nearly 100 person field with a final round score of 70. He matched that three-over-par finish in the spring of his junior season at the FAU Spring Championship, shooting par or better in two of his three rounds.

As a senior, Jericha participated in five of eight events the team played prior to the abrupt end of the season. Through his 15 rounds this past season, Jericha had improved his scoring average over his junior season to 77.13. He enjoyed his best tournament as a Husky at the La Tour Intercollegiate this past February, shooting a one-over-par 217 with rounds of 72-70-75.

"My favorite memory from my time at HBU is the after practice close out drills," Jericha added. "We always had so much fun with the team and it was always a nice challenge!"
