ANNAPOLIS, Md. – HBU track & field athlete
Denim Rogers, who is taking a redshirt during the current indoor season, is set to take part in the 2020 USA Track & Field Indoor Combined Events Championships being held at the U.S. Naval Academy Wesley Brown Field House this Friday and Saturday.
Rogers is one of 12 declared athletes competing in the heptathlon. He qualified with his mark of 5,528 from the 2019 Southland Conference Indoor Championships where he finished atop the podium and set a new program record. That mark is sixth-best among the 12 competing athletes.
The heptathlon opens with the 60-meter dash at 10:15 a.m. ET on Friday to be followed by the long jump, shot put and high jump. Day two on Saturday will begin with the 60-meter hurdles at 9:00 a.m. followed by the pole vault and the 1,000 meters.
