AUSTIN, Texas – Freshman
Scott Boon became the HBU program's new record holder in the decathlon at the 92
nd Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays on Thursday afternoon as one of four Huskies competing on the second day of the meet.

Boon broke Garrison Fick's program record in the decathlon by nearly 250 points, totaling 7,207 points over the 10 events to place eighth overall. Boon set new PRs in the pole vault, trying for fifth with a height of 4.70m/15-5.0, and the javelin with a top throw of 50.27m/164-11.0 while finishing the 1500 in 4:45.37. His time of 16.15 in the 110 meter hurdles was also a PR while he posted a distance of 38.67m/126-10.0 in the discus. Boon was the top scoring freshman in the event.

Denim Rogers finished 17
th in the decathlon after not finishing the 1500 meters, the final event of the day, but totaling 6,477 points. He recorded the second-fastest time in the 110 meter hurdles with a PR of 14.41.

Senior
Shantelle Slaughter finished fifth in her heat in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:05.87 while
Garrett Gibson posted a time of 57.56 in the men's 400 hurdles.

Friday at the Texas Relays will feature the women's 4x100 relay team of
Roxane Adama,
Joelonce Hubbard,
Dennise Reyes and
Tay Nance running at 9:35 a.m. with
Kaitlin Smith and
Ana Kriletic competing in the 110 meter hurdles prelims and Gibson running in the 110 meter hurdles prelims at 10:15 a.m. In field events,
Samara Hodges will be taking part in the high jump at 10:00 a.m. while
Christopher Welch is competing in section A of the triple jump at 3:00 p.m.
