HOUSTON – The HBU women's soccer team hopes to build on its first conference win of the season last Sunday against Nicholls when the Huskies host the University of the Incarnate Word in a Southland Conference matchup at Sorrels Field this Friday at 5:00 p.m.
After falling behind to Nicholls on Sunday thanks to a little bad luck and a well-placed shot, the Huskies (2-10, 1-4 SLC) came back with a pair of second half goals for a 2-1 win in a match where they controlled much of the game and out-shot the Colonels 23-6. Freshman

Jessica Nevils tallied her second of the season.
For UIW (5-7-0, 4-1-0 SLC), sophomore Keeley Ayala has been the offensive spark plug with nine of the team's 13 goals this season, ranking third in the league in goals scored. The Cardinals opened SLC play with four consecutive wins, which equaled the program's conference win total from the previous two seasons combined, before losing their last matchup at home to Northwestern State, 2-1. Goalkeeper Cailey Croson is averaging 4.36 saves per game and boasts a save percentage of .800.
HBU is 6-0-0 all-time against the Cardinals with last season's matchup in San Antonio finishing 1-0 with the Huskies' lone goal coming inn 56

Autumn Wildung. UIW is currently tied for second in the conference with 12 points while the Huskies stand tied for eighth with three.
The Huskies will embark on their final road trip of the season next weekend when they visit Central Arkansas in Conway, Ark. on Friday, Oct. 18, and Northwestern State in Natchitoches, La. on Sunday, Oct. 20.
